A handwritten page and the same lines typed in the font made from it. I took the early train to the coast on Friday. The seats were almost empty, so I sat beside the door. At the next stop a man carried in a broken bicycle. We talked about the old bridge until the sea came into view. I nearly missed my station. I found the ticket in my coat and put it back in the wrong pocket. There was a little shop across the road. I bought a sandwich there, then waited outside for the bus. The ride home took longer than I expected.

What kind of photo works best?

Use a sharp, evenly lit, upright photo of full lines from one person. We can’t use photos with unreadable letter details, fragmented handwriting on printed forms, or multiple sustained handwriting styles without a clear target.

What you’ll get

A downloadable TTF with 95 characters: uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, punctuation and a space. You can try it in the browser first. Joined handwriting is still under review and is not promised.

How it works

1

Take a photo

Photograph one clear page of notes, a letter or a journal. Keep the lighting even, show full lines, and include plenty of different letters from the same writer.

2

Wait while we make it

You’ll see the credit cost before you start. Follow the progress, or leave and find the font later under My fonts. If too few letters can be used as a reference, we’ll ask you to confirm before continuing.

3

Type, check, download

Type your own words next to your photo, then download the TTF for apps that support custom fonts.

Handwriting restoration costs 800 credits on successful delivery, including all style completion. A confirmed photo rejection or choosing to stop after the photo check costs 30 credits in total. Technical failure releases the reserved credits.
